Bye Bye, Earth Animation

Cut through the secrets of the world. Tow Ubukata’s richly imagined fantasy novel, from the Japan Booksellers’ Award-winning author of Tenchi Meisatsu and a writer on Fafner and Ghost in the Shell: Arise, comes to animation. A girl and her great sword lead a sweeping action adventure: confronting loneliness, she chooses to fight and act for her own purpose as the story reaches its climax.

After her quarrel with Adonis and the fierce battle against Evil, Belle shuts herself away in her room. Her companions’ devotion helps her heal, and she once again resolves to become a Nomad. As the Girl of Reason, she draws closer to the great mysteries of this world.

Meanwhile, Adonis sinks into despair and is welcomed into the Hunger Alliance. Belle’s mentor Sian and Drambuie, who dwells in the alliance’s darkness, train him as a Doubter, and he comes to desire the world’s destruction. “Can you cut me down? Can you transcend me and the gods?” What does the battle between Sian’s two pupils, Belle and Adonis, mean? Beyond every struggle, what underlying reason will Belle discover in this world?

This volume brings together the complete second television season. A slipcase newly illustrated by character designer Yuki Hino and a booklet accompany the release, with the season’s main promotional video and creditless opening and ending as extras.
