Sharing delicious food with someone you love makes everyone smile. A heroine stakes her dreams on the cuisine of her Okinawan hometown, supported by her siblings. These four distinctive Okinawan siblings hurt, encourage one another and climb the steps toward adulthood in a warm fifty-year story, full of laughter and tears, beginning with Okinawa's return to mainland Japan.

About two years have passed since Nobuko, played by Yuina Kuroshima, moved from Okinawa to Tokyo to become a chef and began working at the Western restaurant Alla Fontana in Ginza. She is gradually becoming accustomed to the job when owner Fusako, played by Mieko Harada, orders her to turn around another establishment's business. Meanwhile, her older brother Kenshu, played by Ryo Ryusei, starts becoming involved in suspicious business dealings in Tokyo. In Okinawa's Yanbaru region, older sister Ryoko, played by Haruna Kawaguchi, struggles with her marriage, while younger sister Utako, played by Moka Kamishiraishi, begins noticing a man at her workplace.

Time passes, and Nobuko grows steadily as a chef under the watchful eyes of Fusako and chef Futatsubashi, played by Masanobu Takashima. One day, she learns by chance that Kazuhiko, played by Hio Miyazawa, and Ai, played by Marie Iitoyo, may soon marry, leaving her with unsettled feelings. Childhood friend Satoru, played by Goki Maeda, renews his confession to Nobuko as he begins running his own business.
