Code Geass Anime

Zero Requiem: a boy's atonement to the world.

The Code Geass series celebrated its fifteenth anniversary in October 2021. Following the first series, the second series is presented in a special anniversary version with refreshed opening and ending songs. The fifteenth-anniversary Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R 2 Blu-ray Box was released simultaneously with the corresponding box for the first series.

Originally televised in 2008, this spectacular hit surpasses the first series, which overturned conventional ideas about animation, in every respect. New characters heighten the drama, while new Knightmare Frames deliver powerful battle scenes. The outstanding first-series creative team returns: director Goro Taniguchi, writer Ichiro Okouchi, original character designers CLAMP, character designer Takahiro Kimura, main animators Takahiro Kimura, Yuriko Chiba, Eiji Nakada and Seiichi Nakatani, and composers Kotaro Nakagawa and Hitomi Kuroishi.

Story It is the year 2018 of the Imperial Calendar. Lelouch, a Britannian prince who led the Black Knights under the name Zero and rebelled against Britannia using his intellect and Geass, has had his memories erased by his father, the Britannian Emperor Charles. Given different memories, he is living as a student. Reuniting with C.C. restores everything, and he declares war on Britannia once more.

His best friend Suzaku has betrayed him; Rolo is a false younger brother; and Shirley is the girl he loved. With his power of Geass revealed, Lelouch is pursued by enemies and allies alike. Eventually, even his irreplaceable younger sister Nunnally confronts him as an enemy. This is Zero Requiem, the promise between Lelouch and Suzaku. To fulfil it, the two bring the story of despair and atonement to a close.
