Cosmetic Playlover Blu-ray BOX

Sachi Narashima's popular manga, winner of the BL category of the 2021 E-Comic Awards, receives its long-awaited live-action adaptation starring So Okuno and Yudai Toyoda. A cheeky, cool junior beauty adviser and an exceptionally earnest, pure-hearted senior fall into a sweet romance as the cosmetics industry's two princes. What can you become serious about? You are the one who switched me on, senpai.

Hardworking men's beauty adviser Natsume Mamiya is assigned to sell together with his junior colleague Toma Sahashi. Although Sahashi is handsome and talented, his insolent manner troubles Natsume. Then Sahashi discovers one of his secrets and threatens him. Sahashi initially thinks Natsume is a meddlesome senior, but Natsume's determination to face him sincerely, however much he is pushed away, changes him. After achieving the best sales at an event, Sahashi asks for a reward and kisses Natsume.

The adult romance develops alongside their working lives, tracing how two different personalities grow behind the cosmetics counter. The original comic, serialized in Magazine Be x Boy from 2018, surpassed one million copies in circulation. Director Takehiro Shindo and writer Hiroko Kanasugi bring it to television, with music by Koji Endo and the theme Wagamama Only Mine by Urashimasakatasen.

All eight episodes are included. Alongside Okuno and Toyoda, the cast features Shunta Sono, Gaku Oshida, Nozomi Hoshina, Ayano Kudo, Tomoki Yonemura and Yuichi Nakamura. Making-of footage and an episode 8 visual commentary by the two leads accompany a 32-page booklet, calendar card and panoramic visual. This three-disc Blu-ray BOX contains a 200-minute main program with Japanese Linear PCM 2-channel stereo audio and no subtitles.
