Date A Live Anime

Date A Live, with six million copies in its light-novel series, receives its long-awaited fifth television anime season. Beginning with the first television adaptation in 2013, it has produced four TV seasons, theatrical animation and OVAs, retaining devoted fans in Japan and abroad. The fifth season began broadcasting in April 2024, with turbulent developments surpassing the shocking conclusion of season four.

The fourth season's production team returns to deliver the largest battle in the series through high-quality imagery. Jun Nakagawa, director of High School Fleet the Movie and Date A Live IV, directs. Series composition is by Fumihiko Shimo, known for Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki and BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. Naoto Nakamura, of High School Fleet and Date A Bullet, designs the characters. GEEKTOYS, the studio behind Migi and Dali and Dead Mount Death Play, produces the animation.

The familiar cast returns to express the characters' emotions: Nobunaga Shimazaki, Marina Inoue, Misuzu Togashi, Ayana Taketatsu, Iori Nomizu, Asami Sanada, Maaya Uchida, Sarah Emi Bridcutt, Minori Chihara, Ayumi Mano, Hitomi Nabatame and Akari Kageyama. Aya Endo, who has played Reine Murasame throughout the franchise, voices the pivotal new character Mio Takamiya.

Spirits appear as human girls but are beings unlike humans. Their immense powers cause disasters called spatial quakes when they manifest from the neighboring world, earning them a reputation as humanity's enemies. Humanity can annihilate them with military force, or date them and win their affection. Shido Itsuka can seal their powers through a kiss after gaining their affection, saving humans and Spirits alike. Now a major upheaval approaches him: DEM Industries, one of the world's largest corporations and a seeker of the Spirits' power, launches an all-out attack to take his life. A mysterious girl buried in Shido's memories reveals her identity. Intersecting ambitions bring the greatest battle yet.

Episodes 1–6 are included. Shimazaki plays Shido Itsuka; Inoue, Tohka Yatogami; Togashi, Origami Tobiichi; Taketatsu, Kotori Itsuka; Nomizu, Yoshino; Sanada, Kurumi Tokisaki; Uchida, Kaguya Yamai; Bridcutt, Yuzuru Yamai; Chihara, Miku Izayoi; Mano, Natsumi; Nabatame, Nia Honjo; Kageyama, Mukuro Hoshimiya; and Endo, Mio Takamiya.
