Detectives These Days Are Crazy! Animation

The detective once shone. Adapted from the popular manga serialised in Dengeki Maoh, this gag mystery follows an older detective and a high-school assistant who tackle cases with sheer momentum and enthusiasm, in a world where nobody dies. The television anime began in July 2025.

There was once a brilliant high-school detective whose reputation seemed limitless. No case took him long to solve, and no mystery could defeat Keiichiro Nagumo. That was more than ten years ago. Now troubled by back pain, ageing eyesight and sensitive teeth, he has become a world-weary man left behind by the times. What is a smartphone? What does high-school-girl slang even mean? His talent has not withered, he insists; he has simply lost a little youth.

One day, the energetic high-school girl Mashiro arrives at the Nagumo Detective Agency, determined to become his assistant and a detective herself. With physical abilities far beyond the ordinary, this self-proclaimed beautiful, decidedly unconventional apprentice brings endless surprises into Nagumo's life. Their heart-racing daily routine begins!

Around them are Yu Asunaro, a successful high-school detective inspired by Nagumo's former glory; his capable, cool and slightly mysterious assistant Hana Kazamaki; Nezutaro, the agency errand runner who looks up to Mashiro; Azuha Hoshino, an old acquaintance and college student who calls herself a science agent; and Fu-chan, a lost little girl Mashiro discovers. Eccentric personalities keep their comic mysteries moving.
