Detectives These Days Are Crazy! Animation

The detective once shone brightly. The popular manga serialized in Dengeki Maoh becomes a television anime: a comic mystery in which an older man and a high-school girl solve cases through enthusiasm and momentum, and nobody dies.

There was once a great detective who built a brilliant record and enjoyed immense fame. Every case was solved at once; there was no mystery he could not unravel. His name was Keiichiro Nagumo, the high-school detective! That, however, was more than ten years ago.

Now he suffers from back pain, failing eyesight and sensitive teeth. What is a smartphone? What does the teenage abbreviation JK mean? The teenage prodigy who once dazzled everyone has become a grizzled older man left behind by the times. He insists that his talent has not withered; he has merely lost a little of his youth.

One day, Mashiro, an energetic high-school girl with physical abilities far beyond those of an ordinary person, arrives at the Nagumo Detective Agency demanding to become his assistant. Apparently she wants to be a detective herself! Their palpitation-filled everyday life begins: an older detective and a youthful, eccentric assistant who calls herself a beautiful girl.

The people around them include Yu Asunaro, a celebrated present-day high-school detective who followed the same path after admiring Nagumo; his capable, cool and slightly mysterious assistant Hana Kazamaki; office errand-runner Taro Nezu, who looks up to Mashiro; and Azuha Hoshino, a university student and self-proclaimed science agent who has known Nagumo for years. Mashiro also encounters the lost girl Fu-chan, while a collection of eccentric older men adds further chaos.

Video extras include a collection of promotional videos and web previews. The original first-production bonuses were an illustrated box, a special artwork digipak, a booklet containing newly drawn manga and a special sticker. These limited bonuses depend on remaining first-production stock and are not guaranteed.
