Dropout Idol Fruit Tart Animation

We're becoming idols! The four-panel manga about a group of dropout idols, from the creator of Hanayamata, comes to television animation.

Serialised in Manga Time Kirara Carat, this eagerly awaited idol story follows a group of show-business misfits as they stumble, get back up and try again to save their home, Nezumi House, from demolition. With an eccentric line-up that stands apart from other idol stories, their fresh adventures began airing in October 2020. An experienced animation studio brings out the full appeal of these distinctive idols, with colourful, energetic characters and lively performances.

Story: First-year high-school student Ino Sakura moves to Tokyo with dreams of becoming an idol. Together with the other residents of Nezumi House, struggling former child star Roko, musician Hayu and model Nina, she forms the new idol unit Fruit Tart. To save Nezumi House from being torn down, these entertainment-industry underachievers throw themselves into idol activities, picking themselves up after every setback!

Video extras include OchiFuru Station and the textless opening and ending sequences. The original first-production edition was announced with a specially illustrated box, an illustrated digipak, a special booklet and a bonus CD featuring songs performed in the series. These first-production extras are limited and are not guaranteed with the currently supplied copy.
