Ensemble Stars! The Stage brings Desperate Checkmate to Blu-ray from its May and June 2025 performances at Tokyo's Kanadevia Hall and Osaka's Minoh City Cultural and Performing Arts Theater. The stage production reunites the members of Knights: Shohei Hashimoto as Leo Tsukinaga, Shota Takasaki as Izumi Sena, Yoshihiko Aramaki as Ritsu Sakuma, Ryo Kitamura as Arashi Narukami and Naoya Kitagawa as Tsukasa Suou. Rikiya Tomizono appears as Eichi Tenshouin, alongside Hiromu Kudo as Tsumugi Aoba.

The two-disc set places the main performance on the first Blu-ray and the supplementary programme on the second. Behind-the-scenes footage follows the making of the production, while a digest collects material that changed from one performance to another. The final performance's curtain call is also included. Wide-stage recordings of the singing sequences provide a different perspective on the ensemble's choreography and staging.
