Neon Genesis Evangelion King Records Anime Music

This birthday-themed album celebrates Rei Ayanami, one of the defining anime characters of the twentieth century, alongside Megumi Hayashibara, the performer who gives her a voice. Released on Hayashibara’s birthday, it brings together music associated with them both, background score and memorable lines spoken by Rei.

A newly recorded A.D.2001 version of the television opening A Cruel Angel’s Thesis joins Tamashii no Refrain and FLY ME TO THE MOON, revisiting familiar Evangelion music through the album’s focus on Rei.
