Haikyu!! Stage & Musicals

The long-awaited battle of crows and cats comes to the Haikyu!! stage. The tenth Hyper Projection production, staged in Tokyo, Osaka, Miyagi and Fukuoka, depicts Karasuno versus Nekoma in the third round on day three of the Spring High nationals. The promised meeting place is finally reached: old rivals push themselves to their limits in the match voted the manga’s best game. Rivalry, friendship, mentorship and promises shape this next evolution of the stage series.

The Twin Pack also includes a specially edited film of promotional footage shot at the dress rehearsal for the spring 2020 production, Strongest Challenger, whose run ended after its Tokyo performances.

Both stories follow Shoyo Hinata, inspired to play volleyball by the Little Giant he saw as a child. At his dream school, Karasuno, he meets Tobio Kageyama, the prodigy who crushed him in his only middle-school match. Initially at odds, Hinata’s athleticism and Kageyama’s precision create their extraordinary quick attack and help revive Karasuno. Defeating Shiratorizawa earns the team Miyagi’s place at the national tournament.

Strongest Challenger follows Kageyama’s invitation to the national youth training camp and Hinata’s arrival at Miyagi’s first-year training camp. Having grown separately, they reach the tournament’s turbulent second day, when the seeded schools enter. Waiting is Hyogo’s Inarizaki, Interhigh runners-up and title favourites, led by the formidable Miya twins.

In Battle of the Garbage Dump, Karasuno defeats Inarizaki after a fierce exchange of match points: Hinata and Kageyama stop Atsumu and Osamu Miya’s back-row attack. Their third-round meeting with longstanding rivals Nekoma can finally begin. Volleyball connects attack through three touches across a central net: the ball cannot be caught or allowed to fall. Here, defeat means elimination; there is no second chance.

Bonus footage includes Battle of the Garbage Dump’s curtain call and final-performance full-stage view, plus backstage material from both productions.
