Kakegurui the Movie: Zettai Zetsumei Russian Roulette

The live-action Kakegurui series continues to gain new fans with every instalment, reaching beyond readers of the original manga. Its latest work, the second feature film, finally arrives! Breakout regular cast members Minami Hamabe, Mahiro Takasugi, Aoi Morikawa and Elaiza Ikeda reunite for a new gambling battle! Ryusei Fujii of the popular group Johnny's WEST joins as the most vicious villain, Makuro Shikigami, taking on his first villainous role! Psychological warfare pushed to the limit, ultimate cheating and intricately laid traps. A life-or-death game of designated Russian roulette puts Yumeko Jabami in a desperate predicament. The theme song checkmate, newly written by milet around the world of Kakegurui, also attracted attention. The much-discussed eight-episode drama Kakegurui Twin, following popular character Mary Saotome, was announced for simultaneous Blu-ray and DVD release. It is a separate series and is not included in this film edition.

Story At the private Hyakkaou Academy, the school hierarchy is determined solely by gambling prowess. As the student council grows increasingly alarmed by the threat posed by Yumeko Jabami, the number of students branded house pets because they cannot pay their contributions rises sharply. Then Makuro Shikigami returns, having been suspended following an incident two years earlier. Caught in his scheme, Yumeko is defeated and prevented from gambling. The arrogant Shikigami eventually drags Kirari Momobami from her position as student council president. At the ceremony to replace the president, Yumeko challenges Shikigami to an official match.
