Kingdom Animation

The Battle of Kokuyou Hills raises the signal for war against Zhao as the latest Kingdom television anime comes to Blu-ray. This box presents the fifth series, following the Qin army’s struggle for the strategic hills that will become a new foothold for its campaign.

In ancient Qin, the young warrior Xin becomes embroiled in a coup over the royal throne. His fateful meeting with Ying Zheng, the thirty-first king of Qin, sets them on a shared path toward unifying China, while Xin steadily rises through the ranks. Ying Zheng also builds his strength within the court and finally wrests control of the country from Chancellor Lü Buwei, allowing him to begin his unification campaign in earnest. Qin’s forces now seek to seize Zhao’s Kokuyou Hills, where the opposing Zhao army stands ready. A battle for control of this vital position begins.

The box includes creditless opening and ending sequences, promotional videos, a special booklet and an eleven-track soundtrack CD. First-press copies may also include a newly illustrated sleeve by character designer Hisashi Abe; this first-press sleeve is conditional and not guaranteed.
