Detective Conan Being Anime Music

Mai Kuraki begins her twentieth-anniversary year with a double A-side featuring two collaborations with Detective Conan. She supplies both the main theme and the opening song for the two-part New Year special The Scarlet School Trip: Bright Red and Red Love, and even appears in the anime as herself.

Written for the special, Kimi to Koi no Mama de Owarenai Itsumo Yume no Mama ja Irarenai is a medium-tempo song filled with the sweet, wistful emotions of a school trip in Kyoto. Kuraki’s fragile, expressive vocals make it a companion to Time after Time — Hana Mau Machi de and Togetsukyo — Kimi Omou, completing a trilogy of Kyoto songs.

Barairo no Jinsei adds an upbeat party sound to the anniversary celebrations. Its lyrical world recalls Kuraki’s many collaborations with Detective Conan, and its happy spirit promises lively moments in concert.
