Mobile Suit Gundam Anime

Gundam stands upon the earth once more. The animated film Mobile Suit Gundam Cucuruz Doan's Island, released in theaters on June 3, 2022, comes to home video. Mobile Suit Gundam began its television broadcast in 1979 and became a social phenomenon with its 1981 film trilogy. More than forty years later, this landmark of robot animation returns as a theatrical animated film. Beautiful CG modeling by YAMATO WORKS uses the latest technology to bring spectacular mobile suit battles to life.

Having held out during the defense of Jaburo, the Earth Federation Forces launch a major counteroffensive to capture Odessa, the headquarters of Zeon's Earth invasion forces. White Base, carrying Amuro and his companions, heads toward Belfast for its final resupply before the operation. During the voyage, the ship receives orders to clear enemy remnants from an uninhabited island known as the Island of No Return.

Amuro and the others set out to search for enemy agents left behind, but discover children who should not be there and a single Zaku. After losing Gundam during the fighting, Amuro encounters a man named Cucuruz Doan. Can he uncover the island's secret, find Gundam again and escape safely?

This regular Blu-ray edition contains the 108-minute main film and four minutes of video extras: an initial teaser, two thirty-second teasers and two sixty-second teasers. Audio commentary features Toru Furuya as Amuro Ray, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Cucuruz Doan, assistant director Lim Ga-hee and moderator Makoto Ishii. A sixteen-page booklet is enclosed, and the sleeve case features newly drawn artwork by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko.

Toru Furuya voices Amuro Ray, Shunsuke Takeuchi voices Cucuruz Doan, Ken Narita voices Bright Noa, Toshio Furukawa voices Kai Shiden, Megumi Han voices Sayla Mass, Hideki Nakanishi voices Hayato Kobayashi, Tomofumi Ikezoe voices Sleggar Law, Satomi Arai voices Mirai Yashima and Misato Fukuen voices Fraw Bow, among others.
