I will show your ideal world the hell of reality
A school-based coming-of-age RPG about returning to reality with companions who carry regrets from their past.
The title takes its name from the Caligula effect: the more you are forbidden to see something, the more you want to see it, and the more you are forbidden to do something, the more you want to do it. This entirely new entry in The Caligula Effect series centres on two themes: a provocative scenario built around the idea of killing an idol, and characters burdened by the psychological troubles of modern society. Its distinctive battle system and songs by Vocaloid producers give this unusual school RPG its character.
Story
“Now, make a choice without regret.”
The mysterious virtuadoll Regret has created a virtual world called Redo. It fulfils the wish everyone secretly carries to live life over again: “If only I had done things differently back then...”
Redo is a comfortable world without regret, where people can experience the alternative lives they might have led.
In this ideal world, freed from past regrets, the protagonists realise that the world around them is false. With the help of another virtuadoll, they form the Go-Home Club to return to the real world.
The most difficult journey home begins, with the creator of the ideal world standing against them.
The psychological burdens carried by your companions
The real lives of the Go-Home Club's members are filled with circumstances so terrible that you want to look away. Why would they still want to return to such a painful reality? This is a taboo that only the player can explore. If you choose to step into it, do so at your own responsibility, and make a choice without regret.
Predict the future and link your combinations in battle
Combat is fundamentally turn-based, but once you select an action, you can preview a future in which that action succeeds. Using this well lets you coordinate with your companions and overturn an unfavourable situation.
An abnormal world filled with hypnotic songs by Vocaloid producers
In the dungeons where the Obbligato Musicians await, standing against the Go-Home Club to protect the ideal world, Regret's songs play constantly. People captivated by her singing regard the club as rebels and attack them.
The Go-Home Club fights back with the voice of χ, pronounced Ki. The songs are created by Vocaloid producers active on video-sharing sites.
Developed by Historia, the game brings together Takuya Yamanaka's production, planning and scenario work, character designs by Oguchi, character compositions by sasakure.UK and other creators, sound by Tsukasa Masuko, and world-building cooperation from Tadashi Satomi.
