Show me the depths of your ideal world

The more you are told not to look at something, the more you want to see it. The more you are told not to do something, the more you want to do it.

Taking its title from the Caligula effect, this unusual school-life juvenile RPG was originally released on PlayStation Vita in June 2016.

Now named Overdose, Caligula moves to PlayStation 4 with new characters, new stories and new endings. Adopting Unreal Engine 4 also introduces numerous improvements over the original, creating an enhanced playing environment. As its name suggests, this is an extensively strengthened version.

New route: the Musicians' story

The original game told the story of the Go-Home Club, seeking to return from the ideal world of Mobius to reality.

This game adds a Musicians' Route, in which you fight alongside the Ostinato Musicians, former opponents of the Go-Home Club, to protect the ideal world of Mobius.

The amount of scenario content is more than twice that of the original game. What ending will the player reach together with μ?

A female protagonist

The long-awaited female protagonist has been added, allowing a choice of protagonist at the beginning of the game.

This changes more than appearance: the selected gender also affects other characters' reactions and the way scenarios unfold.

New Go-Home Club characters

Two new characters join the Go-Home Club: Eiji Biwazaka, voiced by Kenji Akabane, and Ayana Amamoto, voiced by Maria Naganawa.

Like the other members, both struggle with reality and have decided, for their own reasons, to return to it. Encounters with new manifestations of modern society's psychological problems further enliven the story.

New Musicians and music

The distinctive Caligula approach of linking scenarios with music is strengthened.

New characters also join the Ostinato Musicians, who oppose the Go-Home Club. Two accomplished character composers, DECO*27 and PinocchioP, have written new tracks for two characters with powerful personalities.

There may also be hidden Musicians and composers waiting to be discovered.
