A completely new Cotton adventure for the 30th anniversary

The Cotton shooting-game series, which began in 1991, celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in 2021 with this entirely new sixth numbered entry.

What is Cotton?

Cotton began as a side-scrolling arcade shooter in 1991. It is a fantasy comedy following the adventures of the witch Nata de Cotton, whose favorite food is the legendary sweet called Willow, and the fairy Silk.

Cotton's grand adventure is reborn

The familiar comical world remains intact, while the systems incorporate features from other shooters released by Success as well as the Cotton series itself, including Sanvein's time system and Psyvariar's BUZZ system.

There is another entertaining story, too. Story Mode's event scenes are fully voiced.

Distinctive characters and varied stages

Alongside familiar Cotton characters, guests from Umihara Kawase, Doki Doki Poyacchio and other games join the adventure. Six characters, plus additional possibilities, deliver exhilarating shooting fun.

Each character has different capabilities and actions. The sixteen stages include vertical, horizontal and 3D scrolling.

Combining characters with different abilities and varied stages broadens the ways you can play.

Nata de Cotton

A food-loving witch who adores tea and sweets, especially Willow, the legendary confection made by fairies. She uses three kinds of magic: fire, lightning and wind.

Silk

A fairy who lures Cotton into adventures by using Willow as bait.

Appli Ke Pumpkin

A magic-user and the third princess of the Pumpkin Kingdom. She is an energetic, strong-willed girl. The hat on her head is her overseer, Needle.

Guest: Umihara Kawase

The protagonist of the action game Umihara Kawase Fresh! is a traveling chef. Normally she moves using a freely extending, rubber-like rope with a fishing lure attached; this time she flies while riding a tadpole.

Guest: Luffee

The protagonist of Doki Doki Poyacchio is an energetic, straightforward girl. Like Cotton and Appli, she flies astride a broom.

Guest: Ria

A personification of the player craft from the Psyvariar shooting-game series. She is an exceptionally capable character who grows stronger by continually grazing enemies and their attacks without taking a direct hit.

Guest: Fine

A personification of the player craft from the shooter Sanvein. Unlike the other characters, she uses a time system and cannot be shot down as long as her remaining time has not reached zero.
