This eagerly awaited Best release was originally offered at a price more than 4,000 yen lower than the original edition.

Danganronpa is a high-speed deduction-action series in which you refute contradictions in your opponents' arguments during Class Trials and expose the culprits behind murders.

Following Super Danganronpa 2, released in 2012, this entry presents a completely new original story, renewing both the setting and characters from earlier games.

With Psycho Cool as its theme, enhanced visuals and presentation bring the story unfolding at a new school to life.

This PlayStation 4 release introduces many new systems, including lies that can help you gain the advantage in a trial, and the series' first team-based Debate Scrum.

A new killing semester

In this world, students with Ultimate talents receive special privileges through the government's Gifted Program and are regarded as promising figures for the future.

They are scattered across the country and do not ordinarily gather together. One day, however, sixteen students are imprisoned in Saishu Academy, ruled by the mysterious stuffed bear Monokuma.

According to Monokuma, this school is a place where talented high-school students compete to become number one at killing one another.

The academy is surrounded by enormous walls. To escape, they must follow Monokuma's instructions and take part in the killing game.

To stop the killing, to protect someone, the curtain rises on Class Trials in which lies shoot through the truth...

Saishu Academy: a new setting for the killing game

Classrooms have green vines creeping across their walls and ceilings, while other facilities include a casino that scarcely seems to belong in a school.

With an atmosphere quite different from Hope's Peak Academy, this academy becomes the setting for a school life of mutual killing among students with Ultimate talents.

Enhanced presentation and expression

This release introduces new forms of presentation made possible by PlayStation 4.

The series' familiar Daily Life sections and Deadly Life investigation sections evolve further, as befits this numbered entry.

Class Trials evolve with new systems

In Class Trials, use the evidence you have gathered to discover the murderer, known as the blackened.

Students with Ultimate talents debate the incident from various perspectives. Your objective is to identify contradictions in their statements and arrive at the true culprit.

Evidence gathered during investigations becomes Truth Bullets for refuting contradictory statements. Shoot a Truth Bullet at a contradiction in the statements flowing across the screen to advance the discussion.

New elements include deliberately lying during Nonstop Debates, allowing you to refute statements even when they are not contradictory; Panic Debates, in which several characters speak at once and you must identify the contradiction; and Debate Scrum, the series' first team-based debate.

Extensive bonus modes after completion

From familiar modes for spending time with the characters to a board game and an RPG, the bonus modes available after completing the main story offer one of the largest amounts of content in the series.

Sixteen students are caught up in the killing game at Saishu Academy.

Headmaster Monokuma and the Monokubs
