Trails Nihon Falcom

A completely new Trails story celebrates Nihon Falcom's 40th anniversary

The Trails series of story-driven RPGs earned acclaim for its detailed character portrayals and expansive storytelling, and had surpassed 5.5 million total sales at the time of this release's announcement.

With a new setting and a new cast, The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak opens the second half of the series as Nihon Falcom's 40th anniversary title. It was released for PlayStation 4 on September 30, 2021.

A new cast, a new setting and a Spriggan protagonist

The story takes place in the Republic of Calvard, in eastern Zemuria, a region that previous entries had not yet revealed.

A new Trails story unfolds with new characters, centred on Van, a young man who accepts suspicious requests as an unofficial problem solver known as a Spriggan.

Seamless battles and enhanced graphics with a new engine

While inheriting elements of earlier games, the Trails battle system evolves to switch seamlessly between field combat and command-based battles.

The transition from moving through the field to fighting is more convenient and comfortable. Nihon Falcom's own new engine also substantially enhances the game's graphical presentation.

Original SPRIGGAN Edition physical contents

Rare items exclusive to the SPRIGGAN Edition, including treasured early design material, were packaged in a specially constructed deluxe slipcase inspired by Xipha, the sixth-generation tactical orbment.
