Celebrating the Metal Max series' 25th anniversary, the new tank-and-human RPG Metal Max Xeno comes to PlayStation.

The world of METAL MAX Xeno

The story takes place in the near future, decades after earlier games in the series, in the true end-of-the-century era of 2099, with humanity on the brink of extinction.

Its setting is a country once called Nippon, now reduced to ruins and commonly known as Dystokio. The sudden arrival of colossal monsters comparable to major natural disasters seemed to have wiped out almost everyone in the city.

Yet a handful of young people miraculously survive. Guided by the threads of fate, they reach Iron Base, the last stronghold preserving the latest technology of this near future.

Centred on the revenge story of the protagonist, the player's counterpart, the game explores each young survivor's destiny, justice and future. The battle of humanity's last survivors begins.

Game system: tanks

R-Wolf, a tank appearing since the first game in the series, returns. Many other vehicles are also available, including multi-legged tanks and Bunker Buggies. Explore the world at the controls of your favourite vehicle.

Game system: customisation

Change vehicle equipment such as cannons, machine guns and engines at any time. Paint schemes and names can also be changed.

Each character has three categories of equipment: weapons, armour and accessories.

Game system: shooting and battles

The new Shooting Mode lets you launch a pre-emptive attack on enemies appearing in the field. To gain the advantage before battle, actively take aim when you spot an opponent.

A well-placed shot can defeat an enemy outright, letting you keep firing at successive enemies.
