Rise up and change the future

A completely new numbered entry in the main Yakuza series arrives on PlayStation 4 with a new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga.

In the new setting of Yokohama's Isezaki Ijincho, Ichiban sets in motion a passionate story of men and their intertwined ambitions.

Starting from the depths of despair, Ichiban gains many friends and rises to become a new dragon. The new protagonist's exceptional story of fighting his way up brings the substantial storytelling unique to the Yakuza series.

A different protagonist brings a different way to play, with three major new aspects to the Yakuza experience.

Brawling moves to a new stage

Live Command RPG Battle combines the series' established brawling action with an RPG command system. It has evolved into a system in which anyone can easily enjoy exhilarating battles.

Even during RPG battles, the city never stops for a moment. Dynamic, high-speed battles unfold in real time.

Enjoy new strategic battles using the series' familiar Heat Actions and this game's new Delivery Help system.

A vast new area filled with appealing activities

The new setting, Yokohama's Isezaki Ijincho, is more than three times the size of Tokyo's Kamurocho. A grand story begins amid the different faces of Yokohama's many locations.

Alongside the series' popular leisure spots, the exciting Dragon Kart lets you race through Yokohama's streets.

The popular pachislot activity returns as a definitive pachislot simulator, enhanced with recent machines and famous models.

Ichiban Kasuga

Portrayed by Kazuhiro Nakatani, Ichiban is a former junior member of the Tojo Clan's Arakawa Family.

At the request of family patriarch Masumi Arakawa, whom he admired like his own father, he turned himself in to take the blame for a murder committed by his senior, Jo Sawashiro.

After eighteen years in prison, he is released to discover that the Tojo Clan has disappeared and the Kansai-based Omi Alliance now controls Kamurocho.

Learning that Masumi Arakawa is behind this situation, he goes to see him and find out his true intentions directly.

Jo Sawashiro

Portrayed by Shinichi Tsutsumi, Jo is captain of the Arakawa Family, a direct affiliate of the Eighth Omi Alliance.

A militant yakuza who has served Masumi Arakawa since the Tojo Clan days, he detests Ichiban Kasuga. Even eighteen years have not changed that hatred.

Since Arakawa became acting captain of the Omi Alliance, Sawashiro has held power equivalent to that of a direct Omi Alliance executive.

Nanba

Portrayed by Ken Yasuda, Nanba is a homeless man living in Isezaki Ijincho.

He lost his nursing license after diverting medicine from the hospital where he worked onto the black market, and drifted into Isezaki Ijincho, the city at rock bottom.

He saved Ichiban's life after Masumi Arakawa shot him and left him unconscious. That encounter leads Nanba to accompany Ichiban.

Masumi Arakawa

Portrayed by Kiichi Nakai, Masumi is acting captain of the Eighth Omi Alliance and patriarch of its directly affiliated Arakawa Family.

He was formerly patriarch of the Arakawa Family, a third-tier organization within the Tojo Clan.

By leaking internal Tojo Clan information to the Metropolitan Police Department, he played a major role in driving the Tojo Clan out of Kamurocho and bringing in the Omi Alliance.

His achievements were recognized with the position of acting captain. He now holds the Omi Alliance's de facto number-two position.
