Life is not something to count off one or two at a time. The fan-favourite Even a Worm arc of Saiyuki, the series serialised in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum, comes to television animation in Saiyuki Reload Zeroin.

Kazuya Minekura's fantasy road story boldly reimagines Journey to the West. By the time of this release, the manga series had passed twenty-five million copies worldwide and had inspired four television adaptations, original video animations, animated films, drama recordings and musicals across more than twenty-five years. The eagerly awaited Hazel arc now joins that animated journey.

Shangri-La is a continent where humans and demons, science and sorcery coexist in a disorderly yet peaceful balance. Then negative waves caused by experiments to resurrect Gyumaoh suddenly send the demons out of control and shatter that equilibrium.

Ordered by the heavenly bodhisattva Kanzeon to stop the resurrection experiments, Genjo Sanzo sets out west towards India with Son Goku, Sha Gojyo and Cho Hakkai.

Along the way, the group encounters Hazel Grouse and his attendant Gat. Hazel possesses a resurrection technique capable of bringing dead humans back to life. What purpose has brought this stranger from the west?

Kazuya Minekura created new artwork for both sides of the box, featuring Sha Gojyo and Cho Hakkai, and a new jacket illustration of Ukoku. A character-song recording devoted to Son Goku and a specially made booklet accompany this second part. Commentary and an original short animated story offer further material to enjoy.
