Muv-Luv Animation

After the Second World War, a wall divides East and West Germany, forcing the people on either side to live as enemies. Then the alien-origin species known as BETA, first encountered on the Moon, descends on Kashgar in Central Asia’s Xinjiang Uyghur region. Humanity is drawn into all-out war in the midst of the Cold War. Ten years later, the German Democratic Republic—East Germany—stands on the front line.

Even so, the desire to protect someone remains. This science-fiction robot anime follows its protagonists as they fight the BETA with humanity’s survival at stake, in a story leading towards Muv-Luv Alternative.

Released ahead of Muv-Luv Alternative’s October 2021 television broadcast, this complete-series edition brings all twelve episodes together on one Blu-ray. A main-programme-only playback mode lets you watch without changing discs.
