Sentenced to Be a Hero Volume 1 Blu-ray

Being a hero is the worst punishment this world can impose. Those convicted of grave crimes are sent to fight the Demon Lord, resurrected whenever they fall and denied even the release of death. Former holy-knight commander Xylo Forbartz leads a penal unit of deeply troubled fighters through the front lines, fighting both to survive and to avenge the people who condemned him.

An encounter with Teoritta, a sword goddess and one of the strongest living weapons, changes his prospects. She demands praise and a pat on the head when she destroys their enemies; his contract with her draws them into a desperate struggle shaped by violence and conspiracy. Yohei Azakami and Mayu Iizuka lead the cast, with Shizuka Ishigami and Shun Horie, in Studio KAI's adaptation of Rocket Shokai's fantasy, directed by Hiroyuki Takashima.

Volume 1 contains episodes 1-3, including the extended opening episode, with 107 minutes of programme. Permanent extras comprise web previews for episodes 2 and 3 with narration written by Rocket Shokai, an episode 1 audio commentary and a clean theme-song video. Japanese Linear PCM audio is provided without subtitles.
