Solitary Gourmet TV Series

Solitary Gourmet returns in a special anthology edition, Sorezore no Kodoku no Gourmet. When the original drama quietly began its late-night broadcasts in January 2012, its appetising dishes and Goro’s bold enjoyment of food and inner monologues quickly attracted devoted viewers.

The original gourmet documentary drama follows imported-goods merchant Goro Inogashira as he casually stops at restaurants found during business visits, freely choosing whatever he wants to eat and enjoying a blissful moment.

This special edition takes a new perspective, focusing on the food and solitary meals of people in many different occupations, alongside Goro. Eating without interruption or the need to accommodate anyone else is a happy, solitary act: a moment of pleasure available equally to everyone.

Across different genders, ages, professions and circumstances, each person freely enjoys their own time as a “solitary gourmet”. A diverse group of guests brings these individual stories to life in an omnibus food drama. This time, it is not only Goro who discovers exquisite meals. What delicious encounters await each of the protagonists?
