In a future age of space travel, Toppy and Rana pilot the Sagittarius, the pride of the small space transport company Uchuu Benrisha. Returning to Earth after completing work at a lunar base, they receive a request from Giraffe, an inexperienced young archaeologist: he wants them to bring back Professor Anne, who has travelled to an unexplored planet to investigate and prove a theory rejected by the academic community.

Their reunion with their families is brief. With Giraffe aboard, the Sagittarius sets off for Vega III, Professor Anne’s destination. On reaching the planet’s airspace, Toppy, Rana and Giraffe lose sight of the professor they have finally found, and begin to quarrel. An alien named Sibip, who calls himself a bard of the universe, then appears...

The enclosed guide contains a special interview about Giraffe. The opening theme Stardust Boys and ending theme Yume Kounen are loved for their unforgettable phrases and relatable lyrics. The series received the Atom Award at the 1988 Japan Anime Festival, following its original TV Asahi broadcast from January 10, 1986 to October 3, 1987.
