Suzume Original Soundtrack brings together director Makoto Shinkai, RADWIMPS and Kazuma Jinnouchi in a musical team described as the strongest yet for a Shinkai film. With the director determined to create a new kind of theatrical experience, internationally active film composer Jinnouchi was invited to collaborate with RADWIMPS. Part of the recording took place at London's historic Abbey Road Studios, marking the first overseas recording for a Shinkai production.

The album includes the two theme songs KANATA HALUKA and Suzume feat. Toaka, together with 25 score pieces. It also adds Tamaki and Suzume no Namida, two new songs sung by Yojiro Noda that were created during production but do not appear in the film, offering a deeper experience of its world.

Noda describes working with Jinnouchi, whose experience spans film and game music, as an experience too substantial to sum up in a few words, one that gave him new perspectives. Their collaboration is central to this 29-track collection.
