The Fable Anime

The strongest genius hitman... but he is forbidden to kill? Trained as an assassin from childhood, the invincible man known as Fable can dispose of any opponent in six seconds. One day, his organization's boss suddenly orders him not to kill anyone for a year. Under the name Akira Sato, he begins a completely new life without murder, experiencing an ordinary routine for the first time in his professional career.

Yet an uneasy atmosphere stirring beneath that peaceful everyday life will not leave Akira alone. Can he complete this greatest and most difficult mission? The cool, comical and slightly eccentric year-long leave of the legendary hitman called Fable begins. Volume 2 contains episodes 8–13 of the television anime.

The cast includes Kazuyuki Okitsu, Miyuki Sawashiro, Kana Hanazawa, Akio Otsuka, Kenjiro Tsuda, Tetsuo Komura, Jun Fukushima, Koji Ishii, Ryota Iwasaki, Yudai Mino, Kojiro Takahashi, Kiyomitsu Mizuuchi, Takeharu Onishi, Takumi Asahina, Kazuya Ichijo and Yuki Kaji. Based on Katsuhisa Minami's manga in Kodansha's Young Magazine, the anime is directed by Ryosuke Takahashi, with series composition by Yuya Takashima, scripts by Takashima and Mayumi Morita, character designs by Kyuma Oshita and Saki Hasegawa, and animation by Tezuka Productions. Shuichiro Fukuhiro composes the music, with sound direction by Yasuyuki Urakami and sound production by Audio Planning U. The first cour's opening is ALI's Professionalism feat. Hannya, with Odd Numbers by Umeda Cypher as the ending.

The package includes a newly illustrated outer box, a tall case with cover insert and a 32-page booklet. Cast audio commentaries accompany episode 9 with Kazuyuki Okitsu and Kana Hanazawa, and episode 13 with Akio Otsuka and Kenjiro Tsuda. Creditless versions of the first cour's opening and ending movies are included.
