THE GHOST IN THE SHELL brings the music of the latest television anime series to a two-CD original soundtrack. Since Masamune Shirow introduced the original manga in Kodansha's Young Magazine Kaizokuban in 1989, the series has continued to surprise and stimulate audiences worldwide through works including Mamoru Oshii's 1995 Ghost in the Shell, subsequent animation and a Hollywood live-action film.

Music director Taisei Iwasaki won the Japan Academy Film Prize for Best Music for Belle and also composed for Tokyo Taxi. He shares the score with Ryo Konishi, whose work includes films, television dramas and sound production for Chara + YUKI, Mrs. GREEN APPLE and TOMOO, and US-based YUKI KANESAKA, also known for music for the television anime Dr. STONE.

The jacket features newly drawn artwork by tarou2 under the supervision of Science SARU. A substantial conversation of approximately 17,000 Japanese characters lets the three composers discuss the creation of the music in depth. This is the two-CD edition, with 46 pieces divided across the discs.
