The Rising of the Shield Hero Anime

The series has exceeded twelve million copies in print and digital editions. Season 4 of the hugely popular rise-to-power fantasy arrives! The Rising of the Shield Hero began as a serial on the web-novel site Shosetsuka ni Naro and became a light novel with more than twelve million copies in circulation, including print and digital editions. Beginning with the first television anime season in 2019, the adaptation reached Season 3 and won popularity in Japan and abroad with the overwhelming scale befitting a rise-to-power fantasy and its high-quality visuals. Preparing for battle against the Phoenix, one of the Four Guardian Beasts approaching resurrection, Naofumi confronted and reconciled with the three other heroes in Season 3. In Season 4, to protect Raphtalia from assassins sent by Q'ten Lo, the party heads for Siltvelt, the demi-human nation with the only connecting ship service. Yet some people there do not welcome Naofumi and his companions. Their further ascent begins in a new setting, with the television anime starting in July 2025.

The original first-production announcement includes a booklet containing a new novel by original author Aneko Yusagi and an illustrated jacket. Each volume's double-sided jacket uses a new illustration by original character designer Seira Minami on one side and a new anime illustration on the other. Regular video extras and episode previews add to the substantial bonus content. Story Preparing to face the Phoenix, one of the Four Guardian Beasts approaching resurrection, Shield Hero Naofumi Iwatani confronts the three other heroes so the feuding Four Cardinal Heroes can unite their powers, and finally reconciles with them.

But a misunderstanding leads people to believe Raphtalia intends to inherit the throne, and assassins from a nation called Q'ten Lo target her life.

To settle matters with Q'ten Lo, Naofumi visits Siltvelt, the demi-human nation with the only connecting ship service. The demi-humans, who worship the Shield Hero, welcome him enthusiastically, but Siltvelt is not united, and some do not welcome his party.

Q'ten Lo also faces political instability, and Raphtalia is raised as a symbol of revolution. Amid this deeply confused situation, can Naofumi become the light that guides his companions?
