Those Snow White Notes Animation

“My sound—”

Setsu Sawamura's grandfather, Matsugoro Sawamura, was a Tsugaru shamisen player of legendary skill. After his grandfather dies, Setsu finds himself unable to play. Having lost the sound he loved, he heads to Tokyo without any particular destination.

Yuna Tachiki, a woman who works at a hostess club, helps Setsu, and he finds himself performing Tsugaru shamisen as the opening act for a live show. He pours the feelings and encounters of his new life into the instrument's sound, continuing to search for his own music and his own emotions.

This second volume of the anime adaptation of Marimo Ragawa's popular manga brings together Tsugaru shamisen and youth. Shuri wants to let an older woman hear Matsugoro's improvised piece “Shungyo” once more, but Setsu turns down her request, saying he cannot play it yet.

The package features new artwork by character designer Jiro Mashima, reflecting the drama unfolding in the volume, with an illustrated slipcase and tall case. A special booklet contains story outlines, character introductions and interviews. Conversations with the shamisen appreciation club members, a different audio commentary for each volume and other extras make the collection rewarding to bring together.
