Those Snow White Notes Animation

“My sound—” Setsu Sawamura is the grandson of Matsugoro Sawamura, a Tsugaru shamisen player of legendary skill. After his grandfather dies, Setsu finds himself unable to play. Having lost the sound he loved, he leaves for Tokyo without a plan. Helped by Yuna Tachiki, a woman who works at a hostess club, he gets the chance to perform Tsugaru shamisen as an opening act for a live show. Through new encounters, he pours his feelings into the instrument, continuing to search for his own sound and his own emotions.

This third volume of the Tsugaru shamisen coming-of-age story adapted from Marimo Ragawa’s popular manga contains episodes 7–9. The shamisen appreciation club enters the Matsugoro Cup, organised by Umeko. Mai Tanuma, who has considered Setsu a rival since childhood, and her elder brother Soichi are also taking part.

Extras include promotional videos, mini anime, the third shamisen experience video featuring Nobunaga Shimazaki and Sammy, and the third audio commentary. Each volume’s specially drawn packaging by character designer Jiro Mashima reflects its unfolding drama; conversations involving the shamisen appreciation club members and different commentaries offer more to enjoy across the collection.

A special booklet contains episode synopses, character introductions and cast and staff interviews. The package uses a specially illustrated slipcase and a tall case.
