Urusei Yatsura Animation

“But I still love you, Darling.” Everything begins with the encounter between Ataru Moroboshi, Earth’s most troublesome high school student, and Lum, an oni girl who descends from outer space. Rumiko Takahashi’s striking debut work returns to television to celebrate Shogakukan’s 100th anniversary, adapting selected stories from the original manga across four cours.

Bold, wholehearted in love and sometimes bittersweet, Ataru and Lum’s boy-meets-girl story unfolds amid characters gathered from across the galaxy. In a time when saying “I love you” face to face can be difficult, their glamorous, resilient and wonderfully chaotic youth bursts into life.

BOX 2 contains episodes 12–23, with audio commentaries for episodes 14, 17 and 23. Bonus footage includes Lum’s cover of Lum no Love Song, performed by Sumire Uesaka, and its music-video making-of. The limited edition comes in a special box with newly drawn artwork by Naoyuki Asano, an illustration card newly drawn by Rumiko Takahashi, the Tomobiki newspaper and a special booklet containing newly photographed portraits, interviews and a round-table discussion.
