Bungo and Alchemist Stage & Musicals

The third stage adaptation of the PC browser and mobile game Bungo and Alchemist, available through DMM GAMES! The battle of literary greats including Osamu Dazai and Hakushu Kitahara begins again.

Bungo and Alchemist is a literary reincarnation simulation game in which you join reborn writers to protect books from their enemies, the Corruptors, before literature disappears from people's memories. In Tsuzuribito no Rinsho (Canon), Dazai, Kitahara and their companions confront the Corruptors to defend literature and discover their true purpose. The production continues to use music from the original game and maintains its distinctive world. This third instalment introduces the stage series' first original character, opening up a new side of Bungo and Alchemist on stage. Hakushu Kitahara and Saisei Muro join the stage story for the first time, alongside the newly created Library Director.

Story: The literary greats have been reincarnated in this world to protect their works. Guided by the Library Director, Dazai is delighted to meet Ryunosuke Akutagawa, the author he admires. But this peace is shattered when Hakushu Kitahara's Karatachi no Hana is corrupted. An unprecedented crisis follows: the author himself is absorbed into his own work. To save Kitahara and his writing, Dazai and the others dive into the book...

The production was performed at Shinagawa Prince Hotel's Stellar Ball in Tokyo from September 12 to 22, 2020, and at Kyoto Theatre from September 25 to 27, 2020.

The edition includes a booklet. Video extras feature round-table discussions, making-of footage and a full-stage view of the opening. An original sticker was offered with the first production run; that first-press bonus is no longer guaranteed. Specifications and extras may be changed without notice.
