Classroom of the Elite Anime

The long-awaited second season of Classroom of the Elite, the popular school apocalypse series with more than 6.5 million copies in circulation, finally begins!

The hit MF Bunko J light novels by the creative duo Shogo Kinugasa and Shunsaku Tomose have surpassed 6.5 million copies across the series, including digital editions. The manga adaptation is serialized in Comic Alive. Following the success of the television anime's first season in 2017, the second season began airing in July 2022; a third season was also announced for 2023, bringing the entire first-year arc to animation. Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, assigned to Class D with the other problem students, helps his classmate Suzune Horikita work toward promotion to Class A. After their survival test on an uninhabited island, they enjoy a brief rest aboard a luxury cruise ship. However, another special examination, involving students from all the classes, is about to begin.

Many leading voice actors return. Shoya Chiba, known for Shinei Nouzen in 86 -Eighty Six-, plays Kiyotaka Ayanokoji; Masaaki Mizunaka, known for Keisuke Baji in Tokyo Revengers, plays Kakeru Ryuen; and Akari Kito, known for Nezuko Kamado in Demon Slayer, plays Suzune Horikita. They are joined by Ayana Taketatsu, Yurika Kubo, Ryota Osaka, M.A.O, Rina Hidaka, Satoshi Hino, Nao Toyama, Mikako Komatsu, Yuichiro Umehara, Konomi Kohara and Rina Sato.

The original first-production announcement promoted a newly written novel, Classroom of the Elite 0, by Shogo Kinugasa with a newly illustrated cover, frontispiece and interior pictures by original character designer Shunsaku Tomose, offering the length of a full novel. The retailer specifies 328 pages. It also announced an all-volumes storage box with new Tomose artwork for volume 2, and new Tomose outer cases, Kazuaki Morita digipak artwork, special booklets and video features for the individual volumes. These are historical first-production details: this volume's novel, illustrated outer case, digipak and special booklet are no longer available as first-press inclusions and are excluded from the current offer. The volume-2 storage box is not an inclusion of volume 1.

Regular features: web previews and a creditless opening. The retailer additionally lists audio commentary. Episodes 1–4 are included.

Story: Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School boasts a 100% university progression and employment rate. Each student receives points worth 100,000 yen every month, making it seem like a paradise. In reality, however, it follows absolute meritocracy: only some students with outstanding results receive favourable treatment. Assigned to Class D, where the problem students gather, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji assists his classmate Suzune Horikita in her goal of reaching Class A. After the survival examination on an uninhabited island, they enjoy a short break on a luxury cruise ship, but a new special examination mixing the classes is about to begin. Will they act for their class, their group or themselves? As other classes make unsettling moves, the disunited Class D finds itself in danger. Can students wavering between trust and suspicion see through to the truth?
