The Rising of the Shield Hero Anime

An indomitable fantasy of rising against the odds.

Naofumi Iwatani, an ordinary university student, is summoned to another world as the Shield Hero, one of the Four Cardinal Heroes. Despite suffering repeated persecution after being falsely accused, he has joined forces with his treasured companions Raphtalia, Filo and Melty to protect people from the Waves, calamities that threaten the world.

Through his accomplishments and the help of the Queen of Melromarc, Naofumi restores his reputation and acquires a territory of his own. He begins preparing for the next Wave. Then the revival of the Spirit Tortoise, a monster capable of bringing unprecedented devastation, is confirmed in the Spirit Tortoise Kingdom to the east of Melromarc.

At the Queen's request, Naofumi heads there to defeat it, joined by his new companion Rishia. As the allied forces assemble, Ost Horai suddenly appears before him. A concubine of the kingdom's ruler and its regent, she tells him that someone has improperly revived the Spirit Tortoise. Can he defeat it and reach the mastermind? To protect what matters to him, the Shield Hero rises again.
