The Rising of the Shield Hero Anime

Now, toward a true rise...

After defeating the Spirit Tortoise, one of the Four Spirit Beasts, Shield Hero Naofumi Iwatani defeats Kyo, the cause of its revival, in another world and returns to Melromarc. He prepares for the imminent return of the next Spirit Beast, the Phoenix, but the other three heroes, disgraced during the Spirit Tortoise crisis, are missing, and the fighting strength of his territory remains uncertain.

To prepare for the battles ahead, Naofumi decides to recover the scattered former residents of Lurolona Village. He travels to Zeltoble, where they were sold as slaves, and enters an underground gambling arena with Raphtalia and Filo as a first step toward rescuing them. Demi-humans seeking salvation, three broken-hearted heroes and Myne, now called Bitch, scheming behind the scenes: amid their intersecting agendas, can Naofumi keep moving along the path he believes in?
