An unpredictable near-future science-fiction adventure brings together Masakazu Ishiguro, whose manga topped the men’s list in Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2019, and Production I.G. The world collapsed in 2024. Fifteen years after an unprecedented disaster, man-eating monsters called Hiruko inhabit the ruins of Japan, while the survivors huddle together in what remains.

In Tokyo’s Nakano district, handyman Kiruko receives a dying woman’s request: take this child to Heaven. The boy entrusted to her, Maru, knows only that someone with the same face as his is said to be there. Together, they set out to find it. Elsewhere, children live peaceful, comfortable lives in a beautiful world enclosed by walls, watched over by a headmistress and kindly teachers. When Tokio receives the mysterious message, “Do you want to go outside of the outside?”, the possibility of a world beyond the walls begins to unsettle everyday life.

This initial limited-production box contains episodes 1–6, an inner jacket newly illustrated by character designer Utsushita of Minakata Laboratory, a special sticker and the selected soundtrack vol. 1 CD. Its 100-page booklet contains story introductions and staff commentaries for these episodes, character profiles and a Hiruko guide, staff illustrations, cast and production interviews, a handwritten comment from opening-theme artist BiSH, promotional illustrations, art boards, animation correction drawings, supporting illustrations and a newly drawn four-page manga by Masakazu Ishiguro.

Video extras include clean opening and ending sequences, promotional videos and television spots, an immediate post-premiere round-table discussion of episode 1, and the Yopan Soup Add-a-Little Challenge. Cast and staff audio commentaries accompany episodes 1–6. These are edited versions of the Twitter Spaces broadcasts fitted to the episodes, with opening and closing free talk cut; the official listing separately identifies additional after-talk for the episode 1 and episode 3 commentaries.
