Himitsu Sentai Gorenger Blu-ray Box 1 returns to the beginning of Super Sentai with the first 16 episodes of Shotaro Ishinomori's television series. This 50th-anniversary edition presents the programme in an HD remaster scanned from the original negatives.

To oppose the Black Cross Army's plans for world domination, the United Nations establishes the defence organisation EAGLE. When its Japanese branches are destroyed in coordinated attacks, commander Gonpachi Edogawa assembles the surviving members into a special unit. The five become the Gorenger, launching the adventure that began the Super Sentai series in 1975.

Disc 1 contains episodes 1-6, disc 2 covers episodes 7-12 and disc 3 presents episodes 13-16. The third disc also includes a cast interview with Naoya Makoto, the film Himitsu Sentai Gorenger and an archive of commercials. The film and commercials are in standard definition, distinct from the HD-remastered television footage.

The three region-free Blu-rays contain approximately 389 minutes of television episodes in the original 4:3 format, with Japanese Linear PCM mono audio and no subtitles. Episode 6's title card uses the blue background verified in the original masters, rather than the black background used on the earlier DVD release.
