Himitsu Sentai Gorenger TV Series

Himitsu Sentai Gorenger Blu-ray Box 5 completes the original Super Sentai television adventure with episodes 68 through 84. This three-disc re-release marks the series' 50th anniversary and presents the television footage in an HD remaster scanned from the negatives.

The Black Cross Army's campaign for world domination devastates EAGLE's five Japanese branches. One survivor from each branch remains, and commander Gonpachi Edogawa assembles the five into a special unit: the Gorenger. Created by Shotaro Ishinomori, the series established the starting point for the Super Sentai tradition during its 1975-1977 television run.

The three discs retain their numbering from the complete series: disc 13 contains episodes 68-73, disc 14 covers episodes 74-79 and disc 15 concludes with episodes 80-84. Additional material on the final disc includes an interview with cast member Yukio Ito and the film Himitsu Sentai Gorenger: The Final Explosion of the Fire Mountain. The film is presented in standard definition rather than HD.

The television programme runs approximately 422 minutes in its original 4:3 format, with Japanese Linear PCM mono audio and no subtitles on this region-free edition. Episode 68's title card uses the blue background verified in the master materials, replacing the black background used on the earlier DVD release.
