How Ghibli Park Was Built Phase 1 Blu-ray
ジブリパークができるまで。[第1期]
How was Ghibli Park created? How were the worlds of Studio Ghibli brought to life? Filmed over more than 1,000 days, this making-of documentary follows the park from its earliest concepts to its completion and opening in November 2022, focusing on Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest.
Under the direction of Goro Miyazaki, the documentary records in detail how these uniquely Ghibli spaces took shape. His deep curiosity and uncompromising approach to making things—qualities also found in filmmaking—turn ideas into a physical world.
From buildings such as Satsuki and Mei’s House and the World Emporium to three-dimensional creations including the Catbus and Robot Soldier, skilled craftspeople struggle with Miyazaki’s demanding requirements and respond with professional expertise. Their work, set against the scale and complexity of the project, reveals how the finished park emerged.
Produced by Studio Ghibli, this original documentary presents more than six hours of the creation process across thirteen chapters. The edition includes an explanatory leaflet.
