KC Kiss Nagatan to Ao to: Ichika's Recipe Book Vol. 5 is an official Japanese paper manga volume by Yuki Isoya, published by Kodansha under the KC Kiss label.
Kyoto, 1951. Ichika, the 34-year-old eldest daughter of Kuwanoki, a traditional restaurant with a history stretching back two hundred years, had lost her husband in the war and was working as a chef at a hotel. With Kuwanoki on the brink of financial collapse, the family arranges for Amane, the 19-year-old third son of an influential Osaka family, to marry into the household in exchange for financial support. Ichika has taken a husband fifteen years her junior, while university student Amane is determined to turn Kuwanoki around. Little by little, they begin to trust each other as partners at work, slowly drawing closer as husband and wife, and as a man and a woman. In volume five, Ichika and the others have been gradually deepening their family bonds after welcoming their new family member, Michiya. But when Ichika follows Amane to Osaka after he returns to his family home, she learns that the person he said he loved before they married is Suzune, the wife of his older brother Yukari. In Osaka, Amane's father makes it clear that he has one year to revive Kuwanoki. While continuing efforts to rebuild the business, such as selling madeleines as souvenirs, Amane recognizes that his feelings are turning toward Ichika. On Valentine's night, after sharing drinks together, the two finally spend a night together for the first time since their marriage. It seems they might go on growing closer as husband and wife, but... Then a letter arrives from Ichika's younger sister Futaba, who left Kuwanoki when she eloped! The story takes a major turn in volume five!
