An unforgettable battle begins. Bringing together the Kingdom films that have inspired so many passionate fans, this culmination is presented as the greatest masterpiece in the series!

Four consecutive films have surpassed five billion yen at the box office. At the time of the home-video announcement, Return of the Great General was described as certain to exceed eight billion yen. Continuing the Battle of Bayou from Flame of Destiny, in which Shin and Ouki fought an all-out war against neighbouring Zhao, this fourth film depicts a once-in-a-lifetime battle between Qin and Zhao with the survival of their nations at stake.

The popular manga Kingdom began serialisation in Weekly Young Jump in January 2006. In November 2023, its cumulative circulation exceeded 100 million copies, a first in the history of Shueisha's seinen manga. Its fourth live-action adaptation reaches a shocking climax destined to be etched into Kingdom history.

The formidable Houken, whose past is bound to Ouki and the battlefield at Bayou, appears alongside the mysterious strategist Riboku, who observes the fighting without ever appearing on the battlefield. Mangoku, who tormented the Hishin Unit in the previous film, and the powerful Chousou also take part. The enigmatic general Kyo is deeply connected to the past shared by Ouki and Houken.

In the Battle of Bayou, with everything riding on the clash between Qin and Zhao, Shin and his companions have defeated an enemy general. Suddenly, Zhao's commander-in-chief Houken, whose existence had been concealed, appears before them.

Calling himself the War God, Houken unleashes overwhelming power. Members of the Hishin Unit lose their lives one after another. Carrying the critically wounded Shin on their backs, the unit attempts a desperate escape.

“We'll protect Shin ourselves—.”

Meanwhile, Ouki has been watching the course of the battle. He senses the presence of another monster lurking behind the Zhao army, but returns to the battlefield as the mightiest Great General to overturn their disadvantage.

What past binds Ouki and Houken? Who is Riboku, the strategist quietly watching the battle from afar?

Now, on the land of Bayou where their fates intertwine, an unforgettable battle begins.
