Kinnikuman TV Series

Despite appearances, this is a documentary. Gordon Maeda, Tina Tamashiro and Go Ayano lead a story about actors struggling to uncover the mystery surrounding a live-action adaptation of the beloved hero manga Kinnikuman.

In November 2019, planning and production are underway for MUSCLEMAN, a live-action adaptation of Kinnikuman directed by Sion Sono. It is a forbidden adaptation long considered impossible, and an ambitious project spanning three parts: the Seven Devil Chojin arc, the Golden Mask arc and the Battle for the Kinniku Throne arc. Yet the production team encounters trouble on the day before its long-awaited announcement.

Meanwhile, Gordon Maeda is working hard at the gym when Go Ayano, the film's producer and the actor playing Robin Mask, contacts him to request that he appear as Warsman. Gordon is delighted by the offer, but this adaptation has a hidden past. Together with Tina Tamashiro, cast as Meat-kun, he begins investigating the strange phenomena surrounding the live-action Kinnikuman project.

The box contains all ten episodes, with 266 minutes of main footage and eighty-nine minutes of bonuses. These comprise visual commentary on episodes eight and nine with Gordon Maeda and Tina Tamashiro, a Hong Kong live-action Kinnikuman film, previsualization footage for a Hollywood version, Night at the Kinniku House and a collection of promotional spots. Content and titles are subject to change without notice.
