Macross Frontier Nyan Nyan Greatest Hits! gathers an all-time selection seventeen years after the television series began in 2008. Sheryl Nome starring May'n and Ranka Lee, performed by Megumi Nakajima, each receive a disc of their own, followed by a third disc bringing their voices together.

Toki no Meikyu, Sacrifice and Good job!, previously absent from the albums, join favorites including Lion, Diamond Crevasse and Seikan Hiko. The release date falls on Ranka's birthday, and character designer Risa Ebata creates the new cover illustration. This standard edition contains three music CDs; the additional drama-and-cover disc belongs to other editions.
