Tsukishima, Chuo Ward, Tokyo. Takamimi Shrine has a history stretching back more than 400 years to the Edo period. The deity enshrined there is Elda, an elf summoned from another world by Tokugawa Ieyasu who has become a complete shut-in. She delights in special sweets ordered online, enjoys old-fashioned games, lets the shrine's parishioners spoil her, and receives a visit from an elegant elf known as Lady Uramimi. The goddess who has watched over Tokyo ever since the Edo period prays that tomorrow will remain just as peaceful.
