PlayStation 4 Border Break Starter Pack

Online service has ended

Sega confirms that the PlayStation 4 online service for Border Break ended on September 9, 2023. This online-only title is no longer playable through that service. This Used physical Starter Pack is offered as a collectible; the gameplay and bonus details below describe the original release.

You will break through the border

The high-speed robot team-battle game Border Break first appeared in arcades in 2009 and, after enjoying great popularity, made its long-awaited debut on PlayStation 4.

The series' defining attractions—fast-paced multiplayer battles, extensive weapon and robot customization, and highly strategic maps—were retained. A story mode, refreshed characters and other additions offered a deeper experience of its world in a completely new, further-evolved release.

Intense high-speed multiplayer battles

The main mode featured ten-versus-ten network battles. Players controlled humanoid weapons called Blast Runners, fought to capture Plants, and aimed to destroy the Core in the enemy base.

Each Blast Runner consisted of four parts: head, torso, arms and legs. Four weapons could be equipped for each armament class. Customization created a wide range of individual setups and deepened the battles.

A variety of modes for different players

The single-player Story Mode explored the game's world in greater depth. Beginner Match provided CPU battles accessible even to players without arcade experience. Casual Match and Ranked Match offered battles suited to different experience levels.

A cast full of personality

The protagonist Hati (ハティ), voiced by Reina Ueda; rival Managar (マーナガル), voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi; and Mikoto (ミコト), the operator supporting Hati's team, voiced by Rie Takahashi, were among the distinctive characters who brought colour to the story.
