Let your talent blossom

A welcoming shogi game that even beginners can enjoy! Ginsei Shogi DX includes many features for people starting shogi, such as a Shogi Classroom that teaches the fundamentals and introductory pieces whose movements are clear at a glance.

With 16 playing-strength settings for beginners through advanced players, and nine characters with different preferred tactics and abilities, a wide range of players can enjoy everything from learning to playing matches. Let your talent blossom!

Learn and play with confidence

The Shogi Classroom teaches you from the movement of the pieces and the basic rules onward. There is a full selection of features that beginners can enjoy.

During a match, the Two-Choice Hint function uses arrows to show a choice between a good move and a bad move. A piece-influence display shows attacking and defensive situations on the board, while introductory pieces let you see their movements at a glance. These features support improvement and help beginners enjoy shogi with confidence.

Authentic shogi for beginners and advanced players

A broad range of difficulty settings satisfies both the wish to study shogi against an opponent of manageable strength and the wish to play against a strong computer opponent.

The lowest Introductory level provides a suitably strong practice partner for beginners: you can play an evenly matched game even if you know only how the pieces move. At the highest, fourth-dan level, a database of three million opening moves provides opening play comparable to that of a dan-ranked player.
