Ginsei Shogi Silver Star Japan

Get stronger at shogi while you play!

This beginner-friendly shogi game has been renewed! Learn while having fun with even more substantial content.

A variety of features provide dependable support for beginners

A broad range of difficulty settings runs from fourth dan to an introductory level for beginners. The newly added, weaker thirteenth-kyu and fifteenth-kyu levels make ideal practice opponents.

The comprehensive support features include Shogi Classroom, where you can learn from the very beginning; Two-Choice Hints, which let you select the correct answer from two possibilities; a colour-coded display showing the squares each piece controls; and an analysis function that lets you look back at what went wrong.

When you use castles or strategies such as Mino, Anaguma, Central Rook or the Superfast 3-7 Silver strategy during a match, an effect displays the name to add excitement to the game. You can also read explanations of the castles and strategies you have used.

The game includes spoken announcements by professional shogi player Yoshitaka Hoshino, fifth dan, and women's professional players Nikori Yamaguchi, second kyu, and Kirari Yamaguchi, first kyu. These are the ranks cited in the original product description.

As well as spoken announcements during matches, nine different title voices play at random on the title screen.
